⚙️ Areas of Impact

Beyond conserving the Nambi Sanctuary mangrove reserve, we’re building a larger vision by funding conservation, ecosystem restoration, scientific research, environmental awareness, and sustainable development. Your support helps reverse the collapse of the vital Tárcoles watershed and its adjacent endangered ecosystem by funding the measurable expansion of real-world impact over time.

🗼 Stewardship of the Nambi Sanctuary

Hire a dedicated ranger team to safeguard the Sanctuary and its endangered species as part of our climate resilience strategy while expanding the biological corridor that is home to 4 out of 5 mangrove species in Costa Rica, along with dozens of endangered animals, including the American crocodile, whose population is rapidly declining.

🛰️ Digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV)

Invest in a digital Measurement, Reporting, and Verification (dMRV) system that will monitor the environmental conditions, vegetation status, and CO₂ absorption of the land through dMRV technology. dMRV helps filling the data gap by providing on-the-ground data such as biomass, water quality, species density, and other ecological indicators, measuring the physical attributes of the ecosystem, which can then be linked to socioeconomic valuation models.

📑 Investment in ecosystem certifications

Invest strategically in comprehensive studies and certifications conducted and issued by renowned environmental organizations. These authoritative validations not only enhance the credibility and transparency of the project but also help it accrue tangible, measurable value.

💡 Launch global awareness and advocacy programs

Develop global awareness initiatives through media outreach, press engagement, and strategic communications aimed at influencing policy reform. These efforts will emphasize the economic and tourism-related benefits of positioning Costa Rica as a country committed to responsible and efficient waste processing.

🧑‍💻 Launch a mangrove metaverse experience

Launch our own metaverse experience where users can visualize the token’s impact and actively engage with the Nambi Sanctuary.

🤝 In partnership with Asorebiara

🔬 Build our scientific research hub

Located adjacent to the Nambi Sanctuary, our facility will foster global scientific collaboration by attracting PhD-level researchers and prestigious institutions.

🌊 Cleaning and regenerating the Tárcoles River basin

We will restore affected tributaries, reforest riverbanks to reduce erosion and filter agrochemicals, and collect plastic before it reaches the ocean, surrounding beaches and mangroves by installing a system similar to those developed by the Ocean Cleanup or Trash Whell.

♻️ Establish a permanent waste sorting & distribution facility

Intercept plastic and waste from upstream before it reaches the Guacalillo Mangrove Forest or the Pacific Ocean, processing and repurposing it for industrial and commercial applications. Transforming waste into opportunity provides green employment and fosters environmental stewardship through educational initiatives.

🏕️ Build eco-infrastructure from repurposed waste

Enhance the Nambi Sanctuary's touristic infrastructure facilities by installing trails, docks, and towers built using trash collected from the river—a model of circular economy in action.

🌐 Alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)

Nambi Sanctuary is inherently aligned with the United Nations 2030 Agenda, directly contributing to 15 out of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). By restoring mangrove and tropical forest ecosystems, supporting local communities, leveraging cutting-edge technology, and building circular economy infrastructure, NAMBI creates a uniquely traceable model of environmental and social impact that advances global sustainability.

✅ Environmental Impact
  • SDG 13 – Climate Action Mangrove and forest restoration enhances carbon sequestration and climate resilience, with real-time carbon absorption monitoring via dMRV systems.

  • SDG 14 – Life Below Water Restoration of mangroves and Tárcoles River cleanup efforts protect marine biodiversity, nurseries, and ocean health.

  • SDG 15 – Life on Land Active protection of endangered species, habitat corridors, and reforestation efforts strengthen terrestrial biodiversity.

  • SDG 6 – Clean Water and Sanitation Watershed restoration and reforestation improve water quality by reducing runoff, erosion, and agrochemical pollution.

👥 Social and Community Development
  • SDG 1 – No Poverty Green employment, community engagement, and income from restoration, waste management, and ecotourism reduce local vulnerability.

  • SDG 2 – Zero Hunger Protecting fish nurseries and promoting ecosystem services supports food security for fishing communities.

  • SDG 3 – Good Health and Well-being Reducing pollution, enhancing air and water quality, and offering biophilic spaces contribute to public health and mental well-being.

  • SDG 4 – Quality Education Nambi Sanctuary funds environmental education for youth, visitors, and local communities while building an international scientific hub.

  • SDG 11 – Sustainable Cities and Communities Eco-infrastructure and pollution mitigation increase climate resilience and sustainable living near urban centers.

  • SDG 16 – Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions Transparent governance structures, legal clarity, and participatory frameworks foster institutional integrity and reduce potential conflicts over natural resources.

💡 Innovation, Economy, and Global Partnerships
  • SDG 8 – Decent Work and Economic Growth Circular economy systems and regenerative tourism provide dignified green jobs and foster sustainable local enterprise.

  • SDG 9 – Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure Deployment of blockchain, dMRV, and recycled eco-infrastructure showcases innovation in environmental impact systems.

  • SDG 7 – Affordable and Clean Energy The project's facilities will integrates off-grid renewable energy systems, such as solar-powered infrastructure, to reduce its environmental footprint and ensure sustainable operations in remote ecosystems.

  • SDG 12 – Responsible Consumption and Production Waste repurposing, plastic interception, and sustainable materials use reduce pressure on ecosystems and promote circular practices.

  • SDG 17 – Partnerships for the Goals Nambi Sanctuary collaborates with NGOs (Asorebiara), researchers, and a global token holder community for joint ecological action.
